MASWM Committees

Below is a list of MASWM’s current committees, members who volunteer to help with a wide range of areas facing workshops and those they serve. Committees and members change frequently to address new challenges and allow for new volunteers. If you’re interested in serving on a committee, contact President Tim Poepsel or the respective committee chair.

Advocacy – Chair Heather Pugh, Ideal Industries; Kit Brewer, Project CU; Natalie Couch, Lake Area Industries; Charlie Fischer, Canterbury Industries; Tammy Flores, advocate; Mike Macauley, Heartland Industries; Tim Poepsel, Empac Group.

Function: Coordinate with A-Team Missouri to promote workshops as employment choice, including event planning and monthly activities.


Conference – Chair Charlie Fischer, Canterbury Enterprises; Kate Gregor, Lafayette Industries; Vicky James, Lafayette Industries; Dana Meyer, Empac Group; Kimbal Mothershead, Vocational Services, Inc.

Function: Planning for MASWM events including the spring and fall conferences, the January Workshop Products and Services Day at the Missouri Capital, and more.


Governance – Chair Charlie Fisher, Canterbury Industries; Suzanne Smith, Lafayette County Industries.

Function: Creation and updating of MASWM processes and procedures, including bylaw updates.


Governor’s Council – Katie Jones, Boone Center Industries.

Function: MASWM representation to the Missouri Governor’s Council on Disabilities.


Legislative – Kit Brewer, Project CU.

Function: state and national initiatives promoting workshops and especially the workshop option for employees with developmental disabilities.


MACDDS – Dave Dunn, SWI Industries Solutions.

Function: MASWM representation to the Missouri Association of County Developmental Disabilities Services.

Marketing – Dale Garrison, MASWM Editor

Function: communications within MASWM and important external audiences through newsletters and other publications, email, the MASWM website, and social media.


Training – Chair Charlie Fischer, Canterbury Industries; Linda Kimrey, Laclede Industries.

Function: identification of manager training needs and implementing programs to meet those needs.


MoDOT – Tim Poepsel, Empac Group.

Function: communications with the Missouri Department of Transportation on contracts related to highway rest stop maintenance provided by multiple MASWM member workshops.


Recycling – Geoff Shackelford, Boonslick Industries.

Function: research and assistance to workshops engaged in recycling efforts.
