MASWM Honors Missouri Lt. Gov. Kehoe for Workshop Support

MASWM President Tim Poepsel (left) recently presented the MASWM Legislator of the Year Award to Missouri Lt. Gov. Mike Kehoe during a special ceremony held in Washington, Mo.

Kehoe’s recognition was part of seven awards presented at this year’s April Conference at Lake Ozark. The Lieutenant Governor was unable to attend the ceremony April 25, so President Poepsel arranged for this special presentation.

The recognition was in honor of Kehoe’s support of Missouri workshops and people with disabilities. Among his efforts is an agreement linking MASWM, the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, the Missouri Association of Manufacturers (MAM), and the Buy Missouri program. Buy Missouri is an initiative through the Office of the Lieutenant Governor promoting products manufactured in the state of Missouri. Among results from the agreement have been several shop contracts with members of MAM.

Other honorees at the conference included Heather Pugh as Advocate of the Year; Bruce Young for the Legacy Award; Natalie Couch as Manager of the Year; Jason Auffert as New Manager of the Year; Ginger Williams for the President’s Award; and Vocational Services, Inc. as Workshop of the Year.
