Missouri workers with disabilities and their supporters met with federal leaders during the 2019 Missouri Day on the Hill.

Missouri Day on the Hill
Achieves Success for 2019

The 2019 Missouri Day on the Hill is now history, but the impact of nearly 40 workers with disabilities and their supporters in Washington, D.C. will continue for months, even years.

The trip July 16-18 included dialogue on employment choice and other vital issues that impact approximately 6,000 workers in Missouri.

Here are just a few comments from sessions with representatives of the U.S. Congress:

“It’s about what you do for yourself.”

“When you are part of something special, it’s amazing what it does for you.”

“The workshop is a special environment so that my daughter is able to have a normal life.” – (from a parent)

“The sheltered workshop staff do a lot of things for me so that I am able to keep my job.”

“The Staff at the workshop have a passion for giving people a purpose.”

(More coming soon!)
